Last day in Sydney

This is it, the final day. We spent most of it in the Acquarium fascinated by the tropical fish and seeing the sharks close up.

Sydney New Year's Fireworks

An absolutely spectacular display. We were sitting near Milson's point next to the Harbour Bridge from about 6pm. That's six hours of waiting. For a firework show. It was worth it, but there is no chance you'd get me hanging around London in the middle of winter in the same manner!

Sydney Opera House

A day spent wandering around the city of Sydney. Obviously we had to visit the Opera House and I had to take photos from many different angles.

Sydney

We were lucky to fly right past the city on the way down from Brisbane. Even luckier, I had my camera to hand and managed to grab a couple of skyline shots with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in full view.

Off to Sydney

Another day travelling. We almost didn't want to go to Sydney as that meant we were on the last leg of our holiday.

Fraser Island

We took a tour of Fraser Island taking in Eli Creek, Maheno ship wreck, the coloured sands and Lake McKenzie. Lake McKenzie was, without doubt, the highlight of the day even though the sun wasn't shining for once

Fraser Island

Hervey Bay

After a two days on the road, we finally made it to Hervey Bay and caught the end of Christmas Day on the beach. Fantastic.

Airlie Beach to Rockhampton

A day on the road. Enough to drive you mad but luckily the adverts on the side of the road help keep you going... We stopped off at Clairview for a lunch stop, which turned out to be an incredibly lucky choice. Then onto Rockhampton which was absolutely desserted!

Hamilton Island tourist shots

Final day on Hamilton Island, so time to grab those obligatory tourist shots of the resort. Not to mention popular golf buggies!
