Daymer Bay

Perhaps one of the best spots in the country, Daymer Bay provides flat water, at least three wave breaks around Doom Bar and works in just about all wind directions. The only downsides are carrying your kit down the steps to the beach (some fool always parks right at the top of the steps) and the long walk at low tide!

Tides

It's best to sail Daymer on an incoming tide - when the tide is going out, there can be strong currents wanting. Also, in means that when you're absolutely knackered, the walk back up the beach will be shorter!

Best wind directions

Just about any direction, except due south when the wind has to come over / around Brea Hill and tends to be mighty gusty. Northerly is probably best, ripping down the estuary and bringing some decent swell with it.

Getting there

You're best having a map... Head to Trebetherick and just to the south of the village is a tiny lane leading down the beach

Suitability

Depending on the conditions, Daymer Bay is suitable for all levels. Some days will be too hardcore for beginners, but even then you can practice beach starts and water starts in the shallows...

Shops and Amenities

Shop serving hot food and drinks and public toilets at the car park.
