Sun and surf

While Cornwall had hail stones and a strong (but freezing) North Westerly, we had glorious sun and barely a breath of wind. Storms earlier in the week had left quite a swell so after picking up a Christmas tree in the morning, I grabbed my surf board and headed for a dip. Donning my full winter gear including boots, hoot and gloves, and with the sun beating down, it was pretty warm. Which was just as well, given it was quite a wait between the sets. In the end, I was in the water for about 90 mins with just two of us sharing the break. There were waves a plenty and my surfing is starting to improve such that I now have time to think about what to do rather than simply riding straight back to the beach... Home to mince pies!
